I didn’t set out to start a business. I set out to save myself.
For years, I was what many would call “high-functioning.” I kept going, kept doing, kept holding everything together. On the outside, it looked like I was coping. But inside, I was exhausted — emotionally, physically, spiritually. When I lost my mother, something in me broke. I was grieving deeply, but I didn’t give myself space to process. I stayed busy, as so many women do. Until my body said no.
That was the turning point. My nervous system was in survival mode, and I knew I couldn’t keep pushing through life on adrenaline and anxiety. I needed something deeper — something that didn’t just treat the symptoms but helped me reconnect to myself. That’s when I found yoga, breathwork, and somatic practices. Not the fast-paced, performative kind, but slow, embodied, healing practices that brought me back home to my body.
Healing, Slowly and Gently
What I discovered through those early years of healing changed my life. I didn’t need to strive or force anymore. I needed to listen, soften, and allow. The more I learned about the nervous system, the more I saw how so many women — especially those navigating grief, burnout, and perimenopause — were silently suffering without the right tools or support.
So I went deeper. I trained. I practiced. I integrated. And over time, I became the calm, steady woman I had once longed to be.
Now in my 40s, I continue to meet the evolving challenges of womanhood — including the physical and emotional shifts of perimenopause. But I no longer feel lost or overwhelmed. I have a toolkit of practices that help me feel grounded, centred, and in tune with my body’s wisdom. And more importantly, I now share those tools with other women through Jade Treen Somatics.
Why I Started My Company
I founded Jade Treen Somatics because I wanted to offer what I wish I had found earlier: a safe space for women to breathe, move, feel, and come back to themselves. A space that honours the body’s intelligence and teaches you how to live from a place of nervous system ease — not constant stress.
Women carry so much. We move through life holding families, careers, emotions, expectations. And often, we forget ourselves in the process. Jade Treen Somatics was created to support women in remembering who they are underneath the roles, the rushing, and the symptoms.
