Food for the Brain: Nutrition as Therapy for Mood and Mind
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

Your brain is complex and needs many nutrients to make it function optimally and maintain its ability to think clearly. This seminar focuses on mental health and looks at how the right food and nutrients can improve mental wellbeing and cognitive function.

Depression and anxiety affect over 300 million people worldwide and is usually managed conventionally with a combination of medication and therapy. However, mounting scientific evidence suggests that what you eat also has a huge effect on mental health and that diet may even reduce symptoms of depression. Research indicates that a better-quality diet is associated with better mental health outcomes and improved mental clarity.

The seminar contains lots of practical suggestions that you can use to help your mood stay stable, your thinking stay sharp, and empower you to feed your brain the nutrients its needs to work properly.

11:00am - 11.20am

Jo Colman

Peppermint with Purpose: Rooted in Nature, Proven by Science
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

Jo Colman leads the team at Summerdown, the award-winning British brand bringing the restorative power of peppermint to people’s daily lives. In this inspiring session, Peppermint with Purpose, Jo shares how Summerdown’s mission - to restore through peppermint - comes to life on their regenerative Hampshire farm.

Drawing on research by Professor Mark Moss into peppermint’s benefits for relaxation and focus, Jo explores the plant’s surprising potential for wellbeing, both physically and mentally. From farm tours and shepherd's hut stays on the farm to their sustainably made peppermint chocolates, teas and body, bath and home products, Jo reveals how Summerdown helps people interrupt the pace of modern life and reconnect with stillness - wherever they are.

Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how this humble herb, grown with care and purpose, can have a powerful impact on wellbeing and the planet.

The Truth about Supplements: What's worth your investment and what's not
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

Today, the global supplement industry is worth an estimated £290–310 billion—and that figure is only expected to rise. With shelves and online shops overflowing with pills, powders and potions promising everything from better sleep to boosted energy, it can be hard to know what’s genuinely helpful and what’s just clever marketing designed to tap into our fears and insecurities.

So how do you know what’s worth your money—and what’s not?

In this talk, I’ll cut through the noise, bust some myths, and give you the evidence-based facts you need to make informed choices. No hype, no gimmicks—just straight-talking advice on what really works, what doesn’t, and how to navigate this booming industry with confidence

12:20pm - 12:40pm

You don’t have to like it to Accept it: Finding Freedom through Radical Acceptance
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

Life can be unfair, messy and unpredictable but fighting reality only adds to our suffering. In this short introductory workshop, Senior Psychological Therapist Jennifer Hogan will explore the powerful concept of Radical Acceptance, a practice of allowing things to be just as they are, even when you don’t like them.

Many of us live in a state of inner resistance, pushing back against painful thoughts, uncomfortable emotions, or life circumstances that feel overwhelming. This constant struggle can lead to stress, burnout, and disconnection. Radical acceptance offers another path: one of meeting our experience with honesty and kindness, rather than judgment or avoidance.

Through a blend of psychoeducation, guided reflection, and practical tools, this workshop will help you better understand what radical acceptance is (and isn’t), how it supports emotional regulation, and how to begin applying it in your daily life.

Whether you’re new to this concept or looking to deepen your understanding, this session is a chance to reconnect with your inner strength and let go of what no longer serves you.

You don’t have to like it to accept it, but you may just leave feeling a little lighter.

Breathe into Being: An Introduction to Breathwork for Self-Awareness and Inner Calm
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

Your breath is the one tool you carry with you everywhere – but most of us barely notice it.

Breathwork is the art and science of using intentional breathing to shift how you feel, think, and move through the world. In this uplifting and practical session, we’ll explore how something as simple as your breath can calm the mind, ease stress, lift your energy, and help you feel more present.

You’ll learn why breath has such a powerful impact on the body and mind, and discover how to use it to your advantage in everyday life.

Together, we’ll try easy, science-backed techniques – including breath awareness and diaphragmatic breathing – so you can feel the benefits right away.

Whether you want to relax more deeply, think more clearly, or simply reconnect with yourself, this is your chance to slow down, breathe better, and feel better.

No experience needed – just bring yourself and an open mind.
